John Evans BSc (Hons) AssocRICS MCIOB - Director

John is a Building Surveyor and Chartered Construction Manager with previous experience within both Commercial, Education, Industrial and Health Care sectors whilst working for various Building Surveying practices in the North West of England.

John has always had a passion for historic buildings. This prompted him to pursue his interest full time where in 2006 he worked for the National Trust within their North West Regional Office based in Altrincham for almost 15 years. During his time with the Trust, he was responsible for the planned, cyclical and reactive repairs and maintenance upon some of the country’s most prestigious historic buildings.

He set up Evans Building Consultancy in 2020 and continues to provide advice upon the care, repair and sensitive alteration and refurbishment of historic buildings.

John also has a particular interest in “retrofit”, specifically in terms of the technical aspects of using the appropriate materials, design and compatibility of “breathable” insulation within traditionally constructed properties.
