The Smithy is a detached Mid-Victorian property located upon the National Trusts Dunham Massey Estate in Cheshire. The house has undergone a complete refurbishment including upgrading of the thermal properties of the external walls with wood fibre insulation complete with air source heating system to reduce energy demand and provide a more comfortable internal environment for the occupants.

Further improvements were made to the thermal performance of the building with the introduction of slim profile secondary glazing. Externally, the property has been repointed with a lime mortar further to removal of inappropriate cement based mortar. The rear single storey rear annexe has been converted to a modern Utility Room with a WC.
